The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, originally founded in 1786 as The Pittsburgh Gazette and is the city’s largest paper. Here’s AP voter Abby Schnable on the news that the paper will close its doors in May.
When my colleagues told me to join a Zoom despite being on medical leave, I knew it wouldn’t be good news. I wasn’t expecting this. I’m incredibly proud of the work I accomplished in my (almost) three years at the Post-Gazette, and of the legacy of the paper itself. A sad day.

The @PittsburghPG journalist and employees deserve better. I wasn’t raised in the town, but reading the sports section of the Gazette was fun for me. Made me feel connected to the city from afar. Thanks for the memories

It's very hard to be optimistic about the future of our industry with things like this happening. This sucks. My support and thoughts go out to all the great people and their families at the P-G. So much talent is in that newsroom.
