Canada’s growing clean tech sector has created thousands of high-paying careers — many of those in methane reduction. Our new measures to drive down those emissions will cut pollution and could create nearly 35,000 new careers in the field by 2040.

Canada just took a major step for climate & clean air. 🇨🇦 New oil & gas methane rules aim to cut emissions 72% by 2030 — a big move from one of the world's largest producers. Next we need strong provincial implementation to make sure these rules succeed: https://t.co/BMrYoTkXf0

Remarkable progress. Methane emissions from Colorado’s oil & gas sector dropped by nearly 70% between 2010 and 2017, per EDF analysis of satellite data. This was achieved through an ambitious, collaborative approach to find practical solutions.

New EDF analysis of satellite data found that Colorado #CutMethane emissions by as much as 70% between 2010 and 2017. 📉 The timing suggests that Colorado’s groundbreaking 2014 methane rules played a critical role: https://t.co/T1xWemQAnd

As in the NM Permian, once again solid data + strong state policy = methane emissions reductions. Kudos to @CDPHE @jaredpolis

📈 New MethaneSAT data showing Texas' high methane intensity in the Midland Sub-Basin reaffirms what we know: Texas' efforts to #CutMethane are lagging. NM's strong rules correspond with real progress. TX has the tools — now it needs to act.

LOVE having an owner who knows his O’s history. Frank took a very good and made them great. Here’s hoping for the same from Pete Alonso!
David Rubenstein compares the addition of Pete Alonso to the Orioles’ trade for Frank Robinson ahead of the 1966 season: “The result was we won a World Series that year, and we beat a team named the Los Angeles Dodgers, who people thought were unbeatable.”

Curbing dangerous methane emissions is the fastest, most effective way to slow global warming. In 2021, President Biden signed my legislation to do just that. Delaying these requirements is equivalent to adding 25 million gas-powered cars to our roads. https://t.co/bButDg2pOK

Oil and gas firms were supposed to start reducing methane, a powerful driver of climate change. The agency is giving them more time and may cancel the requirement.

EDF’s @rosaliewinn hits the nail on the head: “This delay risks the health of millions of Americans living near oil and gas production, and undermines progress by industry leaders.”

It’s not every day you see alignment between environmental groups and the American Petroleum Institute or the Chamber of Commerce. Goes to show that tracking emissions is good business; it strengthens companies’ competitiveness and has broad support across the political spectrum.
Oil & gas firms, energy industry orgs, & even a Republican Senator are breaking w/ the Trump admin over its latest climate rollback, urging the EPA to keep its Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. Will the calls from the fossil fuel industry be enough? https://t.co/Fn9x70meih

Canada’s government must follow through on promise to finalise strong methane regulations, and these figs show there’s no time to lose: $17.24 CAD is wasted every second these regulations haven’t been finalised (+ 5.5B cubic feet of gas wasted per year).

Canada pledged 75% methane cuts by 2030, but delays waste gas and harm climate; EDF analysis estimates the economic value of this lost resource.

While Republicans have backed Trump's climate rollbacks, many are now breaking with the administration and urging EPA to reverse course.

New @MethaneSAT observations are the clearest evidence yet that strong standards can pay off. And New Mexico under @GovMLG's leadership is proof. Leaders nationwide should take note.
🔎 New MethaneSAT insights reveal a striking contrast between states in the Permian. In New Mexico, which has strong methane protections, methane intensity is less than half that of operations in Texas. 🔗 https://t.co/mauTryQPmQ
