if you ask most peeps why they want kids they’ll give you some npc answer. the reason why i think having children would be amazing is that you get a front row seat to consciousness booting up. like watching an os that god wrote light up for the first time. & as they grow up

This article went viral because it explains a sobering truth. Work is changing, and career paths are being completely upended. As a father to two boys currently in college and another three coming up behind them, this hits home. Read the full article.

Good insight. You can also choose to create your own game. Also, deciding which game is the key, in careers or entrepreneurship. I have figured out a few games not to play.

Something I wish more young people realized is that the game you play matters a lot more than how hard you work You can grind 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But if you are working on the wrong thing, that effort doesn’t produce anything fruitful In the context of your career,

Here are a bunch of my thoughts on private equity. They won’t be popular. That’s fine. I have been in investment banking or private equity for nearly 20 years, working with and for private equity firms. I’ve interviewed, met with, and interacted with hundreds of PE firms over

Exciting parts about starting a business: 1.) Early branding (logo, merch, name etc.) 2.) Buying equipment to do the work 3.) Watching other people do the work online. 4.) Actually doing jobs and making money. Anyone can do 1-3. Number 4 is the only thing that matters.

Incredibly oversimplified advice on what takes to smb. Its certainly not this easy. Making it obvious that you have a service to sell in this space. I love the idea of dripjobs but comeon man

PSA To anyone wanting to start a home-service business from a white-collar 9-5 (I left a cushy bank job) 1. The bar is low 2. If you do the bare minimum (show up on time, try, and don't smell) you'll survive 3. If you can communicate with people without making them feel

This is absolutely correct. One of the biggest lessons I've learned in small business is that you will constantly have problems dropped on you. How well you handle them is directly related to your success...and sanity

You know who doesn’t have problems? People who don’t do anything. When I realized that, my whole mindset changed. Track fell off? Engine puking oil? Accidentally turned a metal building into a sardine can? Kinda funny, honestly. Just fix it and move on. Problems don’t scare me

Everyone's building static ad agents while I just created a fucking marketing department. This thing turns ideas into content an agency would take a week (and 3 calls) to deliver. Drop a Follow, RT and Comment "team" for the workflow. (Need to do all 3 or my agent won't find

My experience of life: You kind of enter a tunnel at ~15 & it shoots you out at ~35 & the rest of your life is largely determined by the choices you made & the luck you had in the tunnel.

Being a business owner is weird. From the outside, it looks like success and freedom. But most days feel like a fight for survival. Chasing growth, dodging landmines, holding it all together for your team, your family, your future. On the inside, it’s a war with no days off.

“Success is: Do your kids remember you for being the best dad? Not the dad who gave them everything, but will they be able to tell you anything one day? Will they be able to call you out of the blue, any day, no matter what? Are you the first person they want to ask for advice?

"Why should I buy a franchise over an existing non-franchise business?" Weekly question Answer: If you find a great non-franchise, you should buy it They aren't mutually exclusive when searching If you can't find that perfect business for sale (very hard to do) or don't

Really don't like these black or white takes, the worst thing about small biz advice (and any other advice usually). There is the 'burn the boats' mentality vs hedging. I went part time pharmacist and hedged biz 1 then went all in biz 2. Beware with one way or another advice

Please don't quit your job and "go all in". Much easier to work long days and nights, until you're sure your plan works and starts to make money.
