Top of this year’s bucket list was getting the chance to play Brancaster (Royal West Norfolk) at high tide, when the outer holes turn into a series of dramatic carries across the water. With its setting, architecture, and history, Brancaster is a pilgrimage every golfer should

This was lots of fun. Very geeky, of course, but extremely satisfying. Watch the film here 👇 🎬
Last month, @Hainesy76 and @joemmcdonne11 hosted a members walk at @BGC1893 around Harry Colt's 9-hole routing from 1913, a decade before Tom Simpson was commissioned to build an 18-hole course. Over time, the details of Colt’s original work have faded, but Simon and Joe have

Honoured to have my picture grace the front cover of this beautiful book, which is full of brilliant writing, sumptuous pictures, and a vast amount of thought and effort. Congratulations Bonnie Wee Golf and Stephen Proctor, and all involved. Truly excellent.

Pasatiempo: Story of a Golf Club, is now live on YouTube. A celebration of Marion Hollins’ moxie, MacKenzie’s masterful design, and a restoration that’s returned one of golf’s greats to its rightful place among the best in the world. We hope you enjoy the film as much as we

🎬 The Lost Holes at Formby, out now on YouTube. The Sefton Coast has suffered some of the most dramatic coastal erosion in Britain over the last half-century – and @FormbyGolfClub has felt it firsthand, losing it's coastal holes in the 1980s. Together with @sd_cooper and

Richard is one of the most interesting and interested people I’ve met. The way he writes about our game’s most soulful places will have you chuckling and weeping within the space of two sentences. Order your copy of Common Grounds post-haste.

Exciting progress on a fantastic project by the club, with outstanding vision from @joemmcdonne11 and @sd_cooper of @mcdc_gca. The greens team are doing an incredible job with the turfing and final touches following brilliant shaping work as always by @chriscardinal7 👏

Blending some of my favourite golf aesthetics – ground contour that's beautiful and interesting across the whole site, heather and sand, and Scots pines that rarely interfere with play.

Great to see that Holyhead GC has been able to fix its tricky 18th green puzzle, and keep the course ticking along. I have a real soft spot for this place. Especially in very friendly autumn weather, like we had today. Wonderful.

It’s publication day for Matchless in the UK. If you see a copy in your local book shop, post a picture. It’s alway a thrill for authors to see copies in the wild.

Sunrise over Cypress Point. Was wondering what a bit of AI animation could do with a couple of still images, combining some frame interpolation and upscaling. Not bad (at a glance).
