Democrats for Education Reform @DFER_News are advocating a shift toward educational pluralism: choice, accountability, and innovation. A great read!.
"For Democrats to reclaim the mantle of the Party of Education, Americans must believe that our education agenda is laser-focused on outcomes and on creating a diverse supply of great schools for them to choose from!" Wise words from Jorge Elorza at @DFER_News. Here is his new.

Full disclosure: I have not (yet) watched Adolescence, but have been observing it make its waves in pop-cultural discourse. My 2 cents on this thread: as @bernered regularly notes, strong school culture is a core ingredient of #edpluralism and successful school experiences.
Finally watched Adolescence. The world’s given its take and here’s my microscopic contribution: the school in episode 2 is entirely plausible. Writing its depiction off as an ‘insult’ to teachers is tribal. I’ve seen many schools with this decaying level of culture. What.

This is so unfortunate. A structured literacy program that is clearly achieving results for students who most need it is replaced with a tech solution. Lexia's a decent program to support students, but not the same as dedicated, intensive instruction.

Intensive literary intervention program loses funding despite success that seems to bolster Ontario recent approach to phonics and early intervention.

“Yes, I would say life is very good. And then the question is, how do we keep on going?”. What remains is humanity, dignity, goodness, and a beautiful life with so much to teach us, in the middle of the sorrow and pain. Don’t miss out. Remember to love indeed.
When dementia takes away our memory, what remains? What disappears from our lives when we exclude people like Joan?. Remember to love.
