My hot takes? There's a lot more nuance needed to 1. describe "homeschooling", which likely is going to get more complicated as different means of education increase for families & 2. characterize its potential effects which seem manifold in light of the diversity in the sector.

It turns out there's also variation in their long-run outcomes. Take educational attainment where short-term homeschoolers more look like never-homeschoolers and less like medium- and long-term homeschoolers

We disaggregate a nationally-representative sample of U.S. adults who were homeschooled for at least 1 year in their K-12 yrs by how long they were actually homeschooled, comparing their outcomes with each other and to the never-homeschooled population (controlling for stuff).
