Indeed, @pranavmulgund! After these times of financial speculation and populism (supported by the victims of inequality) there COULD come a golden age. BUT, only if leaders such as FDR make massive changes for a win-win game between business and society🙏
AI panic is everywhere. 72% of US workers fear AI reducing jobs. The narrative is fear-heavy and media-friendly, but the real answer is simpler. @CarlotaPrzPerez already gave us the blueprint for how technological revolutions reshape the economy. 🧵

It's amazing how eerily similar today is to 2007. This blog in the @nytimes of an interview by @BradStone with me then, describes how I saw the situation then. The crash was brewing then. Not far from how I see it now.

I can't tell you how many interviews I've done where I've been asked: If Trump's policies are so problematic, why are U.S. stocks rising so rapidly. A bit of international context illustrates the real issue here. U.S. stocks have dramatically underperformed other advanced

Pretty striking that we’re “giving up” hundreds of thousands of parking spaces to make room for larger and more-dangerous cars while refusing to do a fraction of that to improve safety for kids and families. (9.3% of NYC’s 3 million parking spaces is more than a quarter million
Can't find parking? Blame larger cars. "Expanding the average car length from 5 meters (16.4 feet) to 5.5 meters (18 feet) decreases street parking spots by 9.3%... The growing share of larger vehicles has caused many on-street parking spots to effectively disappear."

NYers: Why do we think this is so? Is there less pushback for RTO mandates here? Is it the finance/consulting/media culture of 80-100 hours weeks and up or out hierarchies? Is it the fine amenities that NYC offices have to offer?
Really striking to what degree NY has become an outlier in recovering from the remote-work shift, especially given that it is the city that was hit first and hardest by the pandemic that prompted the shift.
