I don’t know how I got lucky enough to coauthor with @MattRKay but to also get to do sessions like this one with him? I’m living my best life.
Always a good time presenting with @jenorr 🥰. Some of my favorite compliments are about how we always find a reason to laugh. Despite *all* the hard conversations. I like to think our students appreciate it even more than the good folks at our PDs and presentations.

As always, @MattRKay is on top of thinking about how things impact our classrooms and the kinds of questions we need to be asking ourselves.
So, honest question. If you were in your classroom today, and your students were joking/speaking light about the assassination attempt. What would you do?. What would you say? Why would you say it? Would it depend on “which* kids?.

It’s always interesting to return to something I wrote a bit ago. This column holds true for me without hesitation.
Educators tread a slippery slope when they become overly compliant. @jenorr sheds light on how preemptive compliance can establish rigid expectations for the future.

This was our classroom a few weeks ago. The mouse made its way through several classrooms on our hall. It was over for all of us. (Our librarian caught it eventually and saved the day for kids, teachers, and the mouse.).
