And, to be clear, there is some really good stuff in these!.
The leaked drafts of the Trump nuclear EOs had big problems, but final products are quite good. I know many people worked to help improve these, & their advocacy made a huge difference. Some points to quibble with, but the Admin took the criticisms seriously and made them better.

As GOP SALT/IRA moderates keep getting ignored to appease the Freedom Caucus, remember in 2001 Senator Jim Jeffords' concerns over Bush Tax bill & their impacts on special education were repeatedly ignored by leadership. So he switched parties & made Tom Daschle Majority Leader.

Great news! The TerraPower NRC review remains ahead of schedule. From the letter from the NRC: "With continued focus by both parties, the NRC staff is targeting completion of the final SE by June 2026, ahead of the August 2026 date communicated in our June 12, 2024. ".
Our draft safety report with open items for TerraPower’s construction permit application in Wyoming is done a month early! We’re aiming to continue this success and shave another month off our goal for the final safety report. Read more at:

Tim Johnson was one of the best. In 2002, Kelly and I did GOTV in Pine Ridge; we were married less than a year later. As a USD student interning on the Hill, he let me stay in his basement. Wouldn't be where I am w/out him. Model public servant & a wonderful person. RIP Tim.
