High-deductible barebones affordable policies for catastrophic illness or injury, with premiums priced on actuarial reality and lifestyle. Cash for basic medical services, with price competition and correct market incentives for better service. Free charity clinics and.
Before Obamacare it was possible to buy health insurance that covered a catastrophic event (like cancer) and just pay out of pocket for a checkup. Obamacare means you have to pay more to subsidize all kinds of things that don’t impact you. And of course it has led to further.

Imagine thinking this is insightful. Of course insurance should be reserved for statistically measurable events, not routine and almost certain events. Cash for basic services, including even routine surgery, is the only way out of our medical crisis. h/t @Kleptosclerosis.

Sure thing skippy. Do the 9th and 10th amendments leave almost all areas of legislation (and governance) to states? Does Article I Section 8 dramatically limit Congress? Does the "Incorporation Doctrine" (lol) apply the first 10 amendments to the states? Is the Constitution.
"They don't care about the Constitution, so why should we?". Because we aren't like them. And the Constitution is good.

A strange prosperity!.
John Bolton’s net worth is $90 million according to Forbes…. His pre-tax earnings during his time as gov employee were roughly $1.6 million. He lives in highly taxed MD. That’s a lot of “consulting” income. Peddling intelligence for $ is very lucrative. We’re about to see.

More pretenses dropped. It’s better when they don’t pretend.
The Hill is out with my column on the recent opinion (and the chilling jurisprudence) of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Jackson’s expressed sense of liberation has increasingly become the subject of consternation on the court itself.

The real scandal is John Bolton lives in uber-wealthy Bethesda Maryland. Spooks, thugs, and fixers get paid.

If capital accumulation “initiates the process of civilization” (Hoppe), what does capital destruction initiate?.
