This is a disingenuous / bad faith or stupid / bullshit claim not a serious position. There are experts across Silicon Valley and Wall Street—the two places that “rock star” economist Justin Wolfers respects—who are very skeptical of AI and critical of the ouroboros-like bubble.

To the average person, genius looks like lunacy. You don’t get the tech sector because you can’t understand their genius.

That fact that anti-AI posts keep going mega viral tells you how much this bubble for AI bullshit is totally manufactured by Silicon Valley. The only people who really want it are the tech companies and their useful idiots.

And so people don’t get confused, the “outside” sector cannot be data centre infrastructure and chip hardware, because that stuff is inside the AI software! You cannot claim your arms and legs are outside of your head just because that would be economically convenient.

They invented AI because tech companies had too much cash and nowhere to put it. Everyone else also had nowhere to put their money and jumped in, exacerbating the problem. If there were an outside sector that automatically grows with AI, people would be investing in that!

I swear so many people's understanding of economics and technology is "Machine make money 😀"
