Both are separate forms of intelligence,.one is in more demand than ever, other is catching up maybe even more after Eutopia, but till then former is in more demand. Former made way for the later.

if you are ever confused by deep learning just remember that: . adam with L2 (also called weight decay) give poorer result than SGD with L2. but adam with weight decay is much better than SGD with weight decay (or L2 because they are the same). follow me for more of this mess
