The US economy has had a remarkable post-pandemic recovery, but not everywhere. Employment lags most along the West Coast tech corridor -- San Francisco, San Jose, Portland, Seattle. In metro SF, employment is 1/8 below its pre-pandemic trend. š§µon new @BLS_gov August data

Time for some šš·! This was the smallest job gain since October. But 175k isn't bad -- it's much closer to what economists would expect at this stage in the cycle. This is consistent with a story of steady job growth, rather than the acceleration we had seen in recent months.
