On Friday I passed my PhD viva! What a journey it has been. Back to school on Monday to finish the summer term in style! 👨‍🏫 Dr. J Webb ✍️

In 20 years time, kids you teach won't remember the politics, pedagogy or inspection ratings of the time! They will remember your humanity and how you made them feel and empowered them to succeed.

‘Not enjoying it’ doesn’t mean the answer is ‘make it easier or more fun.’ The answer is ‘teach them so well they feel the absolute joy of doing well at something.’ Children who opt-out of lessons are often taking the easiest path, and not the best judges of what’s needed.

Maybe at some point I’ll be back in the sport from a coaches perspective, but I’m enjoying my time away for now! Thanks for everything athletics 🫶 and everyone who was involved in an incredible journey 🗺️

We all want to achieve more, it is the nature of what we do, but I’m incredibly proud of winning two European medals, running as competitively as I did over so many years, and ultimately pushing my body as far as it could go.

It was an absolute privilege to live out a dream so few get to do as a professional athlete. I’ve travelled the world and made memories for a lifetime. Life moves on and I’m retiring from the sport with experiences that will last me forever.

It's been some time since my teacher training year, likely one of the longest gaps between that and my ECT years. However, the incredible balance @LboroSport have provided, allowing me to pursue both academia and elite sport, is something I’ll always be grateful for. 🏃🏻‍♂️🧪 (3/4)

Talent doesn't always express itself right away. Some people's talent is that they are a high responder to training/learning. They need to spend the time doing the work before they can fully express their gift. We tend to overvalue those who show great initial promise.

In the UK (the home of the premier league) you can watch (maximum) 200 matches, which will cost you about £100 per month. In literally any other country it would cost you £5-15 (FOR ALL 380 GAMES) And companies are shocked when the consumer decides to watch an illegal stream
