Almost 20 Back to the Futures (1.21GW) Wow!
On 5 December at 5:30pm, wind generated 23,825MW of electricity to set a new maximum wind generation record. 🥇 At the time, wind was providing 47.4% of Great Britain’s electricity, that’s enough to power over 23 million homes. 🏠 Download the NESO app: https://t.co/xzQlD5QfJs

Flight attendant comes over intercom: “your flight is oversold, I need two volunteers to take a flight this afternoon for a $300 voucher.” I spring into action. I was born for these moments. This is why I studied game theory. Literal tingles. I pull out my megaphone and address

Being the third in a threesome with a gay couple is the fucking BEST bro. Like you have the best sex of your life and then you get to hang out with Bert and Ernie for like 20 minutes afterwords

"fame" oh dear.
.@mjskay points out that this appears to be a $40 stock font and the kerning is off. trump claims it's "carved," but that term gives the impression of hand craftsmanship. more likely it's machined.

This video is brilliant. Seems a total slam dunk that owners of private jets should pay fuel duties. Doesn't it? The answer is annoying.

@VictoriaCoren There are many things I love about Only Connect, but my favourite thing is that the show lets all the contestants be their complete and true self with zero judgement ❤️

Excellent cabbage facts
The real answer is that it’s a space-filling curve, which is the natural consequence of any surface of dimension n growing within a topological space of higher dimension. This, specifically, occurs because a 2-manifold (the cortex or cabbage sheaves) begins to grow within a

Mark Zuckerberg's kids have, by his own admission, very limited screen time and no public social media. He sends them to a screen-free school where expert tutors teach small class sizes. Is that because he's stupid and doesn't recognize the educational value of his own creations?
I’d bet that within a decade, wealthy parents will be sending their kids to elite private schools that market themselves as low tech (no phones, screens, AI, etc.) and we’ll end up scrambling to figure out how to make this kind of education available to marginalized students.

Concepts and ideas may be generated by intelligence, but we use language to communicate these. So quite fundamentally our perception of intelligence can only be shaped by how we perceive the language it is communicated with. 🧵
Claim: gpt-5-pro can prove new interesting mathematics. Proof: I took a convex optimization paper with a clean open problem in it and asked gpt-5-pro to work on it. It proved a better bound than what is in the paper, and I checked the proof it's correct. Details below.

I don't really believe anything I read on Twitter/X any more, but if this is true it's very interesting indeed.
GPT-5 just casually did new mathematics. Sebastien Bubeck gave it an open problem from convex optimization, something humans had only partially solved. GPT-5-Pro sat down, reasoned for 17 minutes, and produced a correct proof improving the known bound from 1/L all the way to

The Telegraph... Famously proud of the UK, but constantly publishing made up evidence free pieces about how terrible crime here is (the truth is crime's at a record low) https://t.co/xaK2ImAaBl
Oh my word…. The click bait merchants at the Telegraph are having an absolute field day right now! 🙄 Shall we take a look at the *reality* behind this sensationalist article? Go on, you know you want to! 😜 🧵 1/25

There are many things this ‘could’ be, one of which is a giant space turd shat, intentionally or otherwise, towards the solar system from what passes for the arse of a sentient molecular cloud. My money, however, is on a lump of ice and rock.

Just landed in Heathrow Airport T3. Went into M&S. Three staff working. I said to them “MR LOVERMAN”. None of them responded with "SHABBA". I have a voice recording & their names to report to M&S. We must confront them every time.
