I give the Trump admin credit for focusing on what's best for US leadership in space, and not letting the Trump-Musk feud drive policy. This is a positive shift from a few weeks ago when Trump was threatening to "terminate Elon's Government Subsidies and Contracts.".

Predictably, the mainstream press is focusing on the irony that this EO might "help Musk's SpaceX." The fact is, any policy that's good for commercial space is going to be good for SpaceX. It's the world's leading private space company.

In particular, the EO orders the Transportation Secy Duffy to "reevaluate, amend, or rescind" the FAA's much-loathed Part 450, which adds a lot of red tape to the launch approval process. I discussed all that in this report:
