I thought it was chocolate!
The Zisha Soccer Cup, the first Yixing-style cultural product in the Jiangsu Football City League, or Suchao, recently made its debut. Crafted from authentic Yixing purple clay, the cup boasts an elegant design and smooth texture, with a striking soccer pattern on the lower part.

A real head-scratcher!
Why are eateries serving low-cost meals doing so well when other restaurants are closing, asks the SCMP incredulously https://t.co/D6vym3UDfS

Just watched Tenet for the first time. It doesn’t seem to make sense that the Protagonist both established Tenet in the future and recruited himself in the past, since he only established it because he recruited himself and vice versa. Am I missing something?

I assume that these cities’ publicity bureaus are just trying to hit quotas and justify budgets, but at least put a little effort in. You’re not going to coax me to visit the Shijiazhuang New Industrial District Arts and Culture Hub if you don’t even bother to use good photos.

Living in Hong Kong, I see a lot of Twitter tourism ads for obscure Chinese cities (or even individual city districts). What I want to know is this: why are their photos always so low-res and over-saturated? It’s like they downloaded them off someone else’s website.

That was quick, Hong Kong Uni of Science and Technology says it will expedite admissions and provide visa and housing support to students currently enrolled at Harvard as well as those holding confirmed offers in wake of Trump admin's announcement barring international students:

Why do they keep putting ‘so-called’ in front of everything? Are they trying to imply that it isn’t a bill? Or do they just think that adding ‘so-called’ next to any random noun is a general way to convey unhappiness?

Historians often try to explain why things happened, but this is an unusual case in which I tried to explain why something *didn’t* happen. Just published, ‘Untranslatable Law’ in Toma and Bara (edd.), ‘Latin Translations of Greek Texts’: https://t.co/3KnmoFpJOt

Wandering around the Met in New York, trying to fight off jet lag before the AHA begins tomorrow. I keep coming across artefacts, thinking ‘that looks familiar’, and then recognising them from images that I use in my lecture slides! #AHA25

Happy New Year! I am at Hong Kong International Airport, waiting for a 3:20am flight to New York so that I can attend the annual conference of the American Historical Association. I wouldn’t stay up this late for a party, so why am I doing it for work?!? #AHA25
