(2/2) I support the President’s efforts to level the playing field, bring jobs and manufacturing back to America, and rebuild the broken economy that Biden left behind. I know American workers, farmers, manufacturers, and miners can compete with anyone in the world as long as

OPINION | Jake Schwitzer, @NSPolicyAction e.d. “Our schools need help, there’s no denying that. Stripping more funding from our already depleted public schools to give students a worse education so that the rich can get richer cannot be the answer.”

📢 Today, we released our latest report, which reveals how vouchers to pay for private and religious schools would drain public schools of millions of $$, exacerbate inequality, and weaken education across the state. 🧵⬇️ https://t.co/yxV1Em7DBq

It’s encouraging that lawmakers are taking fraud seriously this session, but they seem to be missing one of the biggest heists happening right under their noses. Payroll fraud and worker misclassification are a massive crime and the scale of the response has been minuscule.

There’s lots of focus on fraud in the Minnesota legislature. But we couldn’t help but notice there’s a multi billion dollar fraud that’s not getting anywhere near the same attention. #mnleg https://t.co/4g0OFFMo4H

Today our research was the centerpiece of an important conversation about AI's impact on Minnesota's workers at the Minnesota Senate Labor Committee. AI adoption is moving faster than our public policies, and workers are already feeling the effects. https://t.co/UZ2WR24nUv

Since the 1980s, we've seen productivity grow while wages have stagnated. AI has the potential to add jet fuel to this fire, lining the pockets of the wealthy and leaving workers behind. Policymakers should ensure workers have a voice in how AI is implemented in their workplaces.

AI's impact on workers may well be the defining labor question of our generation. I'm very excited that @NSPolicyAction is thinking about how to align AI innovation with the welfare of working Minnesotans and hope our report moves us towards a productive conversation in MN.

Thanks to #workers & advocates, a combined 590,000 workers in #Alaska & #Missouri will see the #MinimumWage go⬆️to $15. Tipped workers in #Arizona also defeated a ballot initiative that would have cut their wages. This 🧵showcases the coalitions that made these victories possible
