As a longtime fan of interview-based business podcasts it’s interesting to me that recently I have new favorite hosts: @jaltma & @collision. The conversations are so much better: deeper, more interesting. I think it’s that they are players and students of the game, know the

Congratulation to Whatnot YC w20 on hitting Decacorn status. They are a terrific example of the heads-down execution oriented founders we tell every YC team to emulate! https://t.co/X5PzJSsbE1

I’ve been long $amzn for a long time but am tempted to sell. Jassy is clearly not operating in founder mode or making big bets. They definitely have a lot of fat to cut but it seems like that’s the only leverage being pulled. $msft and $goog have become true cloud competitors and

.@romeovdean and I wrote a blog post to teach ourselves about the AI buildout. We were surprised by some of the things we learned: 1. There’s a huge fab CapEx overhang - with a single year of earnings in 2025, Nvidia could cover the last 3 years of TSMC’s ENTIRE CapEx. In 2025,

The YC community is better than I ever could’ve imagined. People love to shit on YC and act like we’re all like the loudest among us online, but thats not representative of the group. The willingness to help each other and the immediate connection when you meet another YC

Original idea for a name for AI was: ā€œComputational Intelligenceā€ later abandoned for ā€œartificial intelligenceā€ I wish it had stayed as CI This would have avoided so many misunderstandings we have today about AI

Sora 2 Cameos are a great example of why Google can't win Consumer AI (Cameos lets you use a friend's likeness in an AI video). The Xoogler in me cringes in anticipation of the million reviews that would prevent that from ever shipping.

Basically, blue-state progressives have convinced themselves that Black people are innately ineducable, and then talk a lot of bullshit about why it's actually antiracist to think that. While centrists in red states are just making sure Black people get a good education.

In California, only 28% of Black students can read at a 'basic' level or above on the fourth-grade NAEP. In Mississippi, it's 52%. It's inexcusable, and it's a policy choice. New from me in the Argument:

I wish we didn’t call AI ā€œArtificial Intelligence.ā€ It makes the already hard employment/skilling problem worse by personifying it. Vs wow software can now do a lot of new valuable stuff it could never do before.
