At Microsoft, we see how our #DACA employees make incredible contributions to our company and to the communities to which they belong. Joel's story is a powerful one. We're grateful to know him and to have the opportunity to support and sponsor his employment-based path.
Meet Joel, a @Microsoft employee & former #DACA recipient. Before obtaining an employment-based visa, his future was uncertain. Microsoft was committed to helping Joel access stable legal protection. Other employers may be able to do the same. Learn more:

Today, Microsoft joined @NatImmForum and 60 companies and trade associations to urge congressional leaders to advance a permanent legislative solution for #Dreamers. Dreamers are essential to our workforce and economic well-being and deserve a clear path to citizenship.
Sixty companies and trade associations issued a letter urging Congress to enact a permanent solution for Dreamers. “American businesses in numerous key sectors rely on DACA beneficiaries in their workforce,” the signatories stated. Read our statement:

11 years ago, #DACA was created and three years ago, Microsoft stood on the steps of the Supreme Court alongside @Princeton as the court released its decision protecting the program. Microsoft has long advocated for a permanent pathway to citizenship for all #Dreamers.

The tremendous promise of #AI will bring spectacular advances for humanity, but only if we thoughtfully channel that power "for humanity." @BradSmi details Part 1 of our current ideas toward that goal, focusing on governance.
AI may be the most consequential technology advance of our lifetime. Today we announced a 5-point blueprint for Governing AI. It addresses current and emerging issues, brings the public and private sector together, and ensures this tool serves all society.

The green card backlog is so long that it causes children of highly skilled immigrants to age out of eligibility for permanent residence. This is self-defeating and nonsensical. We appreciate the bipartisan effort to fix this with the America's Children Act.
The America's CHILDREN Act would help protect the children of long-term visa-holders from aging out of the immigration system. We applaud the bipartisan leadership of @SenAlexPadilla @SenRandPaul @RepDeborahRoss @RepMMM @RepBera on this vital legislation.

I remember when domestic #visa #revalidation was discontinued. It’s a major step to see @StateDept move toward a pilot program to bring it back and alleviate one of the huge, needless uncertainties/obstacles faced by so many.

Bipartisanship at work! #RespectForMarriageAct.

Microsoft has long supported the #EagleAct and its core provisions of eliminating EB per country limits and improving fairness in the green card process. It’s critical for Congress to consider these issues and bring much needed relief to those facing these extraordinary backlogs.
As we mark #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, we thank @RepZoeLofgren @RepJohnCurtis for introducing bipartisan legislation to ensure equity in the green card process and ease the backlog. @Microsoft's success depends on our ability to attract and retain the world’s best and brightest.

Today, the 5th Circuit's decision made the future as uncertain as ever for over 600,000 existing #DACA recipients, including colleagues at Microsoft. This can only be solved with a bipartisan legislative solution. There's broad support. We just need the will to follow through.
