🧵Using this pinned tweet thread as a better twitter bio made of representative old tweets. I'm best known as a programmer and computer scientist, so we'll start with this thread of old OS ideas ripe for further exploration: https://t.co/MhQwjHxZgL

Had the most inspiring conversation with @jackrusher about generative art, the inherent humanity of creativity (and how AI might change that), and how excellence is a function of habit. Grateful for the words and wisdom. https://t.co/UDSKW5L08b

Multi-disciplinary artist Jack Rusher discusses habit as excellence, what scientists and artists have in common, and the influence of AI on creativity.

If there is one lesson from global economics over the last century it is this: stability, rule of law and the quality of government is much more important than corporate tax rates and moderate differences in regulations

New @Kleissonic Tremulant pedal arrived yesterday and combined so well with a @FxJptr Kaleidoscope that the resulting guitar tone inspired me to compose and record this tribute to @DAVID_LYNCH on the spot...

As Kay himself has said so many times, this question is entirely about funding. With ARPA/IPTO-style funding, you get Kays (and Engelbarts, Minskys, McCarthys, Corbatós, etc) With VC and NSF, you don't. Even Kay hasn't been able to "be Kay" since the 80s: https://t.co/skTxUmLPWx

Who is the equivalent of Alan Kay of our generation of programmers? Someone who has the grand unifying vision for the domain of computing. 😐

By far the best way to figure this out is to follow the tutorial at https://t.co/byMWx1tnTo, which will walk you through all the basic features, and some real world examples for Malli and Scope Capture.

Have you ever wished for a 500 Hz, millimeter-precise linear position sensing system? Well you're in luck --- all you need is some circuit board, a basic microcontroller, and a wee bit of maths! https://t.co/OicVZugIou

Huge progress by @artuursberzins @AndyRadler @e_volkmann on Geometry-Informed Neural Networks (GINNs)! Faster training, better shapes, and surprising insights from enforcing diversity. 📜: https://t.co/hI3FdgCDeC 🖥️: https://t.co/qRbJ9SWWms

We introduce Geometry-Informed Neural Networks to train shape generative models without any data (!!), combining learning under constraints, neural fields as a suitable representation, and generating diverse solutions to under-determined problems: 🖥️: https://t.co/qRbJ9SXuc0

Money was never the goal. I hated relying on Adobe (Flash) so much that I felt I had to create a free option for the HTML5/WebGL world. It has not been easy and I've had to sacrifice a few things in my personal life but I think it has been worth it.

Sometimes I wonder, how does @threejs make money, no pricing page on their website, and it’s all free to use. I can’t imagine the amount of hard work put into that library, how does @mrdoob profit from this hard work?

I'm seeking participants for a user study on a new code editor that completes your program text with syntactic obligations, which are virtual tokens that stand in for missing text. Details in thread. RTs appreciated 🙏

In probability theory, there's a whole slew of terms like "Markov chain" vs. "Markov process" etc. that can be hard to make sense of. Here's my attempt at some orderly, self-consistent nomenclature, for a course on Monte Carlo methods. Come at me with your worst nitpicks.
