I’m telling you right now, I don’t think there’s anyway I would’ve jumped off one of these boats, onto a beach taking unmerciful machine gun fire. These dudes had courage I’ll never know.

My career will span this entire war. Enlisted on Sep 4th, 2001 and my retirement becomes official on Sep 30th, 2021.
I went there 4 times. Lost some of the best friends I’ve ever had. I can still remember every firefight and IED explosion vividly.
Sucks.

Today, I played in a 5-man, two-team playoff in my 4th collegiate golf start, and finished top-15 individually. At 40 years old.

I shot 67 that day. He shot 75. He didn’t say anything else about my swing.

My stepdad was taken to the hospital this morning. The doctors don’t think he’ll leave. He’s been battling esophageal cancer and it appears that battle is coming to an end. 😔

If I’m being honest, I hate memorial type events. In 20 years of Army service and I folded far too many flags and handed them to relatives, children, and spouses.
Attending one for a couple of kids who were the same age as my oldest tonight. No words. Just tragic. 😔
