I’ve never been more right about anything than I was about Curt Cignetti being a slam-dunk hire for Indiana. But never in my wildest dreams did I think he’d get the Hoosiers playing this well and this quickly into his tenure. Truly one of the great coaching jobs in CFB history.

Rough Saturday so far for Big Ten hoops. Purdue got blown out. Michigan State lost at home. Luckily for the conference, its undefeated, kenpom No. 1 Wolverines play soon and can heal the conference’s reputation after the embarrassing effort some of its lesser schools had today.

When coaches recruit kids, they’re basically telling family members they’ll step in and play the role of parent for the next half decade. If one of those kids comes to you in what feels like a mental health crisis, those family members trust you’ll do the right thing for the kid.

I hope anyone painting this as a negative against Michigan is never in a leadership position. If Michigan didn’t care about Hausmann’s well-being, they would have swept this under the rug and ensured their All-Big Ten LB who happened to also be a captain would keep playing.

MSU just received a $401 million donation. Very impressive and a legitimate game changer. I’m hearing the original pledge was for $400 million. But Greg Williams agreed to give an extra million for every Big Ten win MSU football got over the last 4 years. So $401 million it is.
