The Council has recently agreed to meet with campaigners of the Equestrian Centre, a move welcome, but I insist that these meetings must be followed by concrete action. Dialogue is a start. But what we need is a commitment!

These sites are not surplus they are essential. Royal Borough of Greenwich must pause any sale and give residents the opportunity to pursue Asset of Community Value designation and a Community Asset Transfer.

The Equestrian Centre (2012 Olympic legacy) sits on Metropolitan Open Land and recognised as a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. 3,5k+ residents petitioned opposing its sale, and national charities have expressed interest in supporting a community purchase.
