Hey @joshdr83 do you know any R/python enthusiasts that need a project? I have a pipe dream to convert the EPA's CAMD-EIA crosswalk code from R to Python...

Excited to share more about the 24/7 renewable energy research that I've been working on for the past year with @PenCleanEnergy. This new paper lays out the vision, and part 2 (coming soon) will share the results of the modeling I've been working on with the PCE team.

Since our 2016 inception, we've pushed the boundaries in clean energy procurement and deployment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. That includes our unprecedented goal of delivering 24/7 renewable power by 2025. Why we’re doing it and what comes next: https://t.co/tifK85bR9P

Cody’s comments got me thinking about feasibility of another part of California’s plan, the 1000 MW 2026 clean firm power mandate. Geothermal can do that with just 2% of the current US drilling rigs. Math and context in a short thread.

Fun fact: California's IRP has a baseline plan with more stationary batteries being installed between 2022 and 2024 than the entire global production of stationary batteries is expected to be in 2022.

Beijing - Shanghai distance (1100km) slightly shorter than Boston to Chicago (1300km) Amtrak takes 21 hours 35 mins The High Speed Train 🚆 in 🇨🇳 takes 4 hours 18 min and costs half. The infrastructure difference between the 2 countries is night and day.

A great article on perhaps one of the most exciting innovations in voluntary renewable energy procurement today. Plus I achieved a professional goal to get mentioned in a GTM article ;)

A big deal! Hourly renewable energy data is necessary if we want to send a demand signal for renewables when and where it is needed to help decarbonize the entire grid.

Hey #energytwitter would it be useful to have a database of load profiles for different types industrial facilities? I've thought about proposing as a research project but don't know if it would actually get used...
