@implausibleblog Diane Abbott has had a metaphorical target on her back since the day she entered parliament. 99% of the abuse she's suffered since then has been because she's a woman of colour. The media in this country have been the main drivers of this.

@implausibleblog As said on question time by a wise audience member. The only person who can say that they accept the apology is Diane. No one else. Until then the racism remains.

@implausibleblog Despite the grief the Tories have got over this story, it still boggles my mind they haven’t been grilled more over their ‘he’s apologised’ line. How on earth can they justify the line: “we accept his apology on behalf of this black woman, so we can still accept his money”.

@implausibleblog Here are more of Tory donor Hester’s alleged remarks. Seems pretty clear it is beyond “rude”.

@implausibleblog I'm no big fan of Abbott, but Hesters words were absolutely repugnant. And every Tory who has either kept quiet or refused to speak out about it is a disgusting person. The Tories should revoke any contracts issued to Hester and donated the £15 million to a charity

@implausibleblog The man needs to apologise to @HackneyAbbott face to face & on live TV. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of Diane Abbots politics she is a human being & no one should accept such comments. Perhaps if politics turned down the rhetoric MP's might feel safer & get more done

@implausibleblog What’s happened shows that the Tories are a bunch of racists Having brown & black nodding dogs in positions of power means nothing if they don’t stand up to morally incorrect behaviour. It just makes them complicit in the loss of ethics exhibited by the current politicians

@implausibleblog Since he’s not apologised for inciting violence against @HackneyAbbott we need to get a general election now and get rid of this racist and fascist government #GTTONow

@implausibleblog I do hope @HackneyAbbott gets called at PMQs next week, and is able to make this point.

@implausibleblog Considering that the Tory Party has denied the genocidal campaign in Gaza, it’s not surprising they have denied Hester’s racist remarks. The party is on the wrong side of history.

@implausibleblog The Westminster Parliment failed this week, failed @HackneyAbbott failed in defence of a colleague, failed in fighting Mysoginy, racism and extremist violence. Both Labour and the Tories and The Speaker failed all some and especially some of colour . #WeSeeYou

@implausibleblog @dihydrofolate I cannot believe that in 2024 a woman like Diane is still having to fight these battles. "I want my country back" from these evil right wing bastards, from all the Tories, Reform, EDL, NF, every fucking one of them. And from the media who glorify & amplify their views.

@implausibleblog I wonder what would have happened if someone had said “I hate (eg Rees Mogg ) and he makes me want to hate all Tory MPs. Rees Mogg should be shot” What would have happened to the person saying it? Would Rees Mogg have been allowed to have his say at PMQs?? Of course he would

@implausibleblog @FirehorseP His spokesperson apologised but made it clear that didn’t amount to an admission that he’d said it.

@implausibleblog Jeremy Corbin and Diane Abbott are too loyal to the Labour Party. What it stood for is dead, it no longer reconciles with their values or those of the left or centre left. They need to become independent…I get it’s hard…but take the plunge

@implausibleblog Tbh sure Diane’s constituency will vote her in regardless of what party she represents by a healthy majority. She definitely doesn’t need to worry about that
