Technology risk is wild here. Intel's 10nm struggles? They tried to extend old lithography tech (DUV) with complex multi-patterning instead of adopting EUV. One wrong technical bet derailed years of progress and cost them their decades-long process leadership.

This is incredibly clever paper, which to me shows the importance of mathematical modeling. He uses some very clever tricks to answer an incredibly important question, and you're simply never going to think of these verbally. I shall, nevertheless, try to explain them. 1/

Two 23 year old Indians just dropped the #2 open-weight AI voice model in the world, trained purely on free credits! Maya1 is #20 globally, better than even Google's best. 3B params, runs on one GPU and does 20+ emotions with < 100ms latency You can just do things.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page performing "Kashmir" with the Egyptian orchestra leaded by Hossam Ramzi (1994) Absolutely amazing, just turn up the volume, and you're off to another galaxy. Pure genius.

Holy shit...Stanford just built a system that converts research papers into working AI agents. It’s called Paper2Agent, and it literally: • Recreates the method in the paper • Applies it to your own dataset • Answers questions like the author This changes how we do science

As a researcher at a frontier lab I’m often surprised by how unaware of current AI progress public discussions are. I wrote a post to summarize studies of recent progress, and what we should expect in the next 1-2 years: https://t.co/B7438Z9lOF

Notable that the US and its allies outproduce China in machine tools with only a fraction of the population. Allied scale matters.

China not only dominates mfg of final product & basic materials, but also increasingly the equipment. Today, I will focus on machine tools. China is world's biggest machine tool producer ($27B) & exporter (>$7B) in 2024. A thread on how China Inc has grown in machine tools👇

Product management for AI agents is easily the wildest form of product management in history. Typical product management is trying to figure out how to design interfaces and software for people to interact with deterministic systems. The user generally knows all the context to

How can GCCs bolster India's R&D and innovation ecosystem? 1. Move from cost-driven to knowledge-driven R&D 2. Collaborate with Indian companies to nurture R&D. 3. Collaborate with Indian HEIs to set up joint R&D centers, support incubation, and translational startups.
