We need to stop testing children and abolish targets and exams. They are pointless in the modern world.
Today Bridget Phillipson announced that a new target will be set of 90% of 6-year-olds passing the phonics screening check at the end of Year 1. Currently 83% pass at the end of Year 1 and 89% at the end of Year 2. They also announce a new reading test for children in Year 8 at
