President Trump and Elon Musk’s funding cuts to groundbreaking medical research do NOT Make America Great. That’s why I’m on the Senate floor introducing a resolution pledging support for NIH & asking for immediate passage. Watch.

Scientists, now more than ever, need to explain their work to the public. Many years ago now, I gave a @TEDMED talk about my lab’s research.

Sad to hear this news. Amos was a giant in the field and yet he was always kind to me. Glad we got a couple of papers together! My condolences to his family and many many trainees.

People are worried. I thought only PIs are disturbed but I realized yesterday that lab members are worried about the uncertainty as it comes to jobs fully supported by NIH grants. A friendly reminder: please reassure your students and trainees during these uncertain times.

The NIH restructuring was openly advertised before the election and it's now in motion. There is no time to waste, hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Don't get lost in speculation. Focus on what's within your control. Mission critical research: Focus on what’s
