I’m sick of hearing piecemeal, deck-chair-shuffling ideas and policies before budget. They will achieve nothing. UK needs major cultural shift to unlock ambition, cut barriers to success …or we risk relegation from the first world. #UKbudget

For too long insane planning laws, clueless bureaucrats and over-regulation has meant Britain builds almost nothing. Nowhere near enough homes are being built, nowhere near enough Small Modular Reactors, nowhere near enough beautiful architecture. If @Nigel_Farage becomes

@UniteSharon @BhamCityCouncil …aren’t you the same people who fund the incompetent Labour Councillors’ election campaigns? …and aren’t you the same union currently under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office? Don’t throw stones from glass houses.

Economists: The West Mids is severely underperforming. Brummies: The city centre is failing, it's awful, people don't go there any more Reality: The city centre core and the jewellery quarter saw the highest increase in private sector jobs outside London between 2021 & 2023.

The other week @hurasenberg was called a "Nazi" by a hostile man in Harborne whilst campaigning for his candidacy as a @Conservatives Councillor. Hugo says he wouldn't be surprised if people like @ZackPolanski are causing this by throwing the word "Nazi" out #UKPolitics

To turn our city around and get back on the map for the right reasons, we have no choice but to think big. Could reviving this legendary event be the start of a new age for Birmingham?

Despite 67% local support, with funding shortages and poor national media coverage, the famous race came to an end.

Dubbed the ‘Monaco of the Midlands,’ the Birmingham Super Prix was a motor race held on a street circuit in from 1986 to 1990. The 2.7-mile track ran through the city center, featuring landmarks like the Rotunda.

🤔With Birmingham's reputation at an all-time low, we need bold ideas that breathe life into the city and complement our industrial heritage. Could the return of the Birmingham Super Prix be the answer? A thread. 🧵

Whilst I have great respect for WM Police and The Villa, this is a very depressing day. The freedom of individuals should be protected robustly - whatever the politics. That principle has led to many safe protests in the WM, and it must be defended in this case as well.

Bham Labour declared Brum is a city of sanctuary welcoming to all. They bid for the Euros 28 and Womens world cup 35. Now Council and Police saying Jewish+ non Jewish football fans cannot be kept safe in the city. @BhamCityCouncil @WMPolice what does this say to Jewish residents?

Many people have missed the point here. The debate about flags is being used as a DISTRACTION to divert attention away from the serious failings of the Labour-run Birmingham City Council.

Timely thoughts from excellent young councillor and good friend @WillCalverleyUK Regardless of party affiliation, we need a democratic process that encourages new talent, not scares it off.
Four years since the tragic murder of Sir David Amess, we must once again confront an uncomfortable truth - political violence and abuse are out of control in this country. We all say that political violence is never the answer, but I fear we’ve become numb to just how bad

Our flag threatens no one; it represents us globally and belongs to us all. The Labour Cllr I’m standing against was so quick to remove them. Why so quick on flags, but zero action on bin crisis, rats, and bankrupt council? Major issues.

I confirm this incident was reported to @WMPolice. Thank you to the officers who spoke with me and reviewed the footage this afternoon. Threats of political violence must always be treated with the utmost seriousness.

We often wonder why more great and talented people don’t go into politics. This is why. We must stop the hatred and division, and come together to fix our bankrupt local councils and broken government. #UKPolitics

Sort out the bins Jayne. Or are you too busy chasing easy wins? Roll on May 7th! 🗳️
Delighted (as will most Harborne residents and businesses be!) that the flags on Harborne High St have been removed. Thanks to those responsible for removing. 99% of people who contacted me last week were uncomfortable with their presence (and were not asked if they wanted them.
