Got an update from a leader on the ground at Fort Wainwright. Here’s what we can share:. For months, leaders have raised concerns about the lack of space. This weekend, with little notice, they came in on a DONSA to help troops move. Soldiers were shifted into a temporary.
Whelp got the final setup. This is definitely suboptimal. We can’t be taking care of troops like this.

This morning I spoke directly with the Secretary of the Army regarding the @DCGuard1802 food issue. Here are where things stand:. Leadership acknowledges there was a 36-hour window where full, robust meals weren’t being served due to a contract lapse. While smaller “meal boxes”

Looks like breakfast with @DCGuard1802 has course-corrected (apple not pictured). I’ve also been in touch with leadership — my goal is to work with them to make sure Service members’ quality of life is where it needs to be. More to come.

In nearly two years, every other leader I’ve engaged with has come back with actions, ideas, or even phone calls. The @DCGuard1802 is the only one that’s relied on a template response — twice, and with no improvements made since yesterday’s reply. Soldiers deserve genuine.
@hotscots_app Soldiers & Airmen serving receive support through contracted meals, Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS), or per diem to ensure they are properly sustained. We are committed to the welfare of our members & continue to monitor and adjust support as needed. #AlwaysReadyAlwaysThere.
