The rain has been intense lately! But the BARI van still manages to stand out with its bright colours 🤩 We'll be parking up around Poole Harbour all winter and would love to meet as many of you as possible... if you see the van, come and say hello 👋 #Poole #pooelharbour

Great news this week as @BCPCouncil @ParksFoundation & @BirdsofBARI start work to create a new viewing facility along the #TurlinMoor shore line at #LytchettBay This aims to encourage & support everyone in the local community & beyond to enjoy nature whilst giving it space. 👏

Rewarding offshore today despite total calm, with 1000s of shearwaters, Pom and Arctic Skuas, and with zero breeze still managed to find a Wilson’s! Photos Joe Pender

Nice to see a number of Elephant Hawkmoth Larvae popping up around the garden. Providing small wild areas/native planting/pond etc within the garden, even in an urban setting can benefit so many species. Gardens can be such a valuable resource to wildlife, please do your bit🙏

Great video from @MyaBambrick1 of one of the Poole Harbour White-tailed Eagles from @BCP Ham Common on the @harbourbirds pop-up. What a privilege to see these from these urban reserves, such a great opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy a magical experience.
Incredible fly by of the White-tailed Eagle at Ham Common Viewpoint this morning during a @harbourbirds pop-up watch 🤩 Lots of ‘oos’ and ‘wows’! 😄

Hey folks – the Club is run entirely by volunteers. We need new people to keep it alive and kicking! Our many followers on social media clearly value it. Membership's great value at £20 a year, but it’s not just your money we’re after – we need your unique input and contribution.

First tag of the season retrieved!!! 😄🎉🌊 a very exciting moment indeed. The first incubation-stage foraging track to be recorded from a #Faroese Storm-petrel - worth all the immense effort that it takes! Fingers crossed for more now! @SEAGHOSTS_BioDv @RobThomas14

Wonderful images of STORM who recently became the first GPS-tagged Spoonbill to fly from the Netherlands to UK. It's so nice to get such intimate views from the roost on Brownsea Island. Tracking data reveals she has explored much of Poole Harbour since arriving 6 days ago.
Four ringed spoonies in the group this afternoon. White ringed NC2F and NB2V, plus STORM NH45 and another with black/dark blue flag, red, yellow right and metal ring left #WildBrownsea @DWTBrownsea @DorsetWildlife @GlobalFlyway @harbourbirds @DorsetBirdClub

Huge thanks to the teams @Scillypelagics & @OrioleBirding for a superb few days looking for seabirds off Scilly. 70 Wilsons petrels + lots of big shears. If you was some top quality pelagic birding I can't recommend these trips highly enough.

More Wilson’s Petrels than Stormies today!!! The Wilson’s Petrels were on active migration, moving straight through. With the Petrels spending time around the chum and then away, ultimately heading south to the Southern Atlantic/Antarctica, so exciting to witness!

Fine evening south of islands with Oriole Birding charter: usual Big 3 - Wilson’s, Great & Cory’s Shears - but highlights for locals were 3 Sabs Gulls, Long-tailed Jaeger and dark-morph Pom jaeger. Plenty of regular seabirds, too.
