To my shock, they said the return ticket was never confirmed by the airline. This means they sold me a ticket, with a seat, took money and then said it wasn't confirmed. Am I booking a train, I never saw an unconfirmed air ticket. Absolute losers, @IndiGo6E is the shittiest.

Well well, guess what @IndiGo6E did to my 65 yr old mother's flight, a fully paid return ticket to Bom - IST - Zurich, suddenly the return ticket is cancelled and a new ticket allotted is 24 Hrs halt at Istanbul airport for a senior citizen. They said pay if you want to change.
Needless to say, your staff was rude to me and my co passenger, accusing us of filming when we were not filming, because I politely asked them the same question- How could they change flight time 2 hours before a flight and charge me extra. Mind you, at this point I had paid.

it's important to step up when needed. It's good that the topic is publicly addressed now.
NeurIPS acknowledges that the cultural generalization made by the keynote speaker today reinforces implicit biases by making generalisations about Chinese scholars. This is not what NeurIPS stands for. NeurIPS is dedicated to being a safe space for all of us. We want to address.

"A possible explanation is that talent begets talent, or that previous winners nominate their scientific descendants (researchers must be nominated to be considered for a prize, and the Nobel committees choose who can make these nominations).".
This Nature article shows that most Nobel Prize winners are part of one big, incestuous academic network. Out of 736 Nobel Prize winners in science and economics, 702 are "part of the same academic family.". Only 32 researchers out of this network have won the Nobel Prize.
