Great idea! The pressure on business to change their cash ways for such a short period of time is absurd. Hoping all business do this and everyone flood the CRA for money back! 🙏❤️

There are lots of poverty pimps. Every organization and/or Society that's out there does some work off the backs of the poor and the homeless. Also, mental health and addiction. Call it capitalism and an everyday thing.

So why do we constantly let them do what they are doing being so substance affected, without the ability to make logical good decisions for themselves? We aren't helping by allowing these kinds of situations.

@guyfelicella Because the people that comprise the chronically homeless, as opposed to the temporary homeless, are primarily there because of their own actions or inactions. Criminals who’ve dropped out, drug addicts committed to theft & anarchism, mentally ill refusing treatment, a myriad of

Special thanks to @SaanichPolice and @WestshoreRCMP for assisting @vicpdcanada officers. A true team effort to recover the stolen taxi and arrest the suspect.

There's time to change the path of the Canada Disability Benefit, the gov continues to hear that the current situation is unacceptable and contrary to what was envisioned/promised, there's no way they are not taking note. Keep up the pressure, because out of sight is out of mind.

I am also very disappointed. Sometimes, things need to obviously get worse before a decision is seen as the wrong one. Unfortunately, the majority of kids will suffer.

I agree that we are failing. There needs to be the same accessibility to getting clean and sober as there is to getting the illicit drugs. We are aiding and abetting in their addictions. Bottom line😪

I cannot say this enough. If you don't hold people accountable & give them the ability to have a purpose, you are failing them. Handing out supplies to live a degrading life on the street is HARM. The longer it goes on the harder it is to bring someone back. People need rules.

That's a start @GraceALore, and we desperately need to raise the rates. PWD needs to be up to at least $2,000 to live. Let's do better.

Last week we passed amendments to the Social Development & Poverty Reduction Acts. New 10-year targets including 75% reduction to child poverty and 50% senior poverty. We’ve also ended mean spirited financial penalties and enabled opportunities for services and support. #yyj

On June 1, 2024, B.C.’s lowest paid workers will get a pay raise when the general minimum wage increases from $16.75 to $17.40 per hour. This represents a 3.9% increase, consistent with B.C.’s average rate of inflation in 2023. #inflation #workers #Labour
