Our paper 'Shelter as Home?: Syrian Homemaking in Jordanian Refugee Camps' has now been published! We highlight the fragility and contingency of homemaking, but also reveal the agency of displaced people. #Refugees

Last week we completed construction of SheltAir at our Building Research Park. The design is inspired by Bedouin tent structures. Have a look at photos and videos here: https://t.co/Ga8vqXjslO .@suknat .@BathArchandCivE

Camp 4 extension with elephant watchtower in #Bangladesh. #Rohingya refugee camps were built on elephants' migratory routes and there have been cases of animals damaging shelters and injuring people there.

Quite striking inside shelters in #Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar is lack of decorations and very few elements of personalization of space. This could simply be due to fact that people have only been living there for a year, and also their economic situation is very dire.
