We lost a true pioneer in the field of neuroscience and neuropharmacology, Dr. Floyd Bloom. Words can hardly capture the enormity of his contributions. His work was essential to our understanding of how neurotransmission works and how it influences mental disorders. Floyd’s

Instead of listing my publications, as the year draws to an end, I want to put pressure on the commonplace assumption that productivity must always increase. Good research is disruptive and thinking time is central to high quality scholarship and necessary for disruptive research

Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries: “It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use

Paul McCartney in Manchester tonight was magnificent. To hear that back catalogue sung (and really well) with such utter enthusiasm by an 82 year old for 2 hours and 40 minutes was staggering.

We lost a superhero 35 years ago today. Fernando Martin was a Spanish star and only 27 years young when he died suddenly on December 3, 1989. It was a life changing experience for the country and for me. I think about it daily. Hala Madrid 🇪🇸🏀⚽️

I don't cry easily, but as the dad of a teenage son with autism, ADHD & anxiety issues, watching Tim Walz's 17-year-old son(who has a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD & anxiety disorder)standing up, crying & pointing to the stage telling everyone "that's my dad" just gutted me

If you’re choosing a research group to join, pay just as much - if not more - attention to the culture and mentoring style in the group than the research. You can succeed in lots of research areas or projects, but it’s tough to succeed in an unsupportive environment.
