Happy to report on epifadin, a new bacteriocin shaping the human microbiome. New structural class, very short lived. Kills S. aureus rapidly and gives the producer S. epidermidis a profound advantage. Thanks to the teams of Peschel, Krismer, Grond.

We are happy to share our new paper on the uptake of fosfomycin through porins of E. coli. Our data show that the cytoplasmic membrane is the rate-limiting barrier, unless the relevant transporters are induced. Thanks to @TRR261 and @CoE_CMFI and the team. https://t.co/SxjK7q0lvG

Happy to share our brandnew paper on the first natural product beta-lactone ClpP inhibitors. They bind covalently, inhibit virulence and gave beautiful co-crystal structures with ClpPs from all three domains of life. Thanks Groll, Kaysser, Sieber, Grond labs for excellent work !!

"... the “pandemic treaty” must ... respond to a wider range of pandemic threats, not solely viruses ... If governments are serious about pandemic preparedness, they must support bold measures to conserve the effectiveness of antimicrobials within the Pandemic Instrument."
Removing antimicrobial resistance from the WHO’s ‘pandemic treaty’ will leave humanity extremely vulnerable to future pandemics
