🎰📊 We find that a novel Bayesian reinforcement learning model that infers valence for ambiguous outcomes can explain behavior & highlight how this process can lead to confirmatory biases.

🤫💰🪨 Participants do a unique behavioral task where we manipulate the ambiguity of feedback as well as their prior beliefs about valence. Sidenote - people's beliefs about feedback correlate with self-reported optimism 🤩, suggesting our task has some external validity.
