Learning Memory and Decision Lab @BrownUniversity | We study how the brain processes information for effective decision making.
Providence, RI
Joined December 2020
In our new @CommsPsychol review, we explore how humans adjust learning to different types of uncertainty, why biases arise, and what this reveals about learning and psychiatric conditions. π Read more: https://t.co/qs2VIn99TN With @NassarLab & @haukeren

New preprint with @milenamr7 and @Anne_On_Tw showing that age differences in learning were largely attributable to changes in a working memory system that was associated with levels of prefrontal glutamate! Congrats!!π https://t.co/8CVczroqiE
elifesciences.org
Apparent age-related differences in learning are best accounted for by rapid decay of information in working memory, which is associated with levels of prefrontal glutamate.

Brown students and faculty were among the Brain Week Rhode Island volunteers who brought plastic brains, interactive activities and lots of neuroscience knowledge to schools around the state.
As part of #BrainWeekRI 2023, Carney faculty, students and postdocs went to local K-12 schools around RI to lead interactive demonstrations and educational games that encouraged hands-on learning about the brain. Learn more & see photos of these visits @ https://t.co/ndnPra7Xxj
