Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility, and it is important that we all work together to stay safe and help prevent fires. Never prop open fire doors and keep fire exits clear. Always follow your universities and accommodation providers’ guidance. #StudentFireSafetyWeek

This #StudentFireSafetyWeek please remember that raising a false alarm by activating a break glass point could put lives at risk. Firefighters react to every alarm call. If they’re answering a false alarm call, they’re not available to deal with a real emergency.

Last week we attended a fire in a student accomodation block, which was caused by incense 😲 It is important that you never leave candles, incense sticks and oil burners unattended, and always make sure they're away from anything that could catch fire. #StudentFireSafetyWeek

This #StudentFireSafetyWeek please remember fire extinguishers should never be ‘played’ with. They are vital, potentially life saving pieces of equipment. Property and lives could be in danger if the extinguishers are not available to use in fully charged, working condition.
