If the goal is to prevent impaired drivers, I'm curious as to why Ms. Batters is against #RandomAlcoholTesting but supports #RandomDrugTesting. Anyone? #cdnpoli

@just_mice33 @DianeMariePosts The most logical explanations seem so obvious! Against - #RandomAlcoholTesting - she enjoys a drink Supports - #RandomDrugTesting. - she does not smoke pot. #cdnpoli

@btaplatt This is one reason why I amended Trudeau's #ImpairedDriving law to remove #RandomAlcoholTesting. My amendment passed #SenCA, and then the Trudeau government forced it back in. My VIDEO on what Canadians need to know about the unconstitutional Bill #C46:

@kinsellawarren Yes!! I've been singing this tune for 18 months, as I fought hard against this unconstitutional Bill #C46: Trudeau's #ImpairedDriving law. My amendment to remove #RandomAlcoholTesting passed #SenCA, but the Trudeau government forced it back in. My VIDEO: https://t.co/tbfhAzMjJz

@MichaelSuderman @rexglacer Both Houses of Parliament must pass a bill in exactly the same form. So, if Senate amends a Bill (as with #C46), the House of Commons must accept the amendment. In 2018, Trudeau Government had a majority, and the Govt refused to accept my amendment removing #RandomAlcoholTesting.

@cselley If only the Trudeau government had let my amendment stand, removing #RandomAlcoholTesting from Bill #C46!

@btaplatt Yes! Important to recognize this. #RandomAlcoholTesting is separate unconstitutional part of Trudeau’s #ImpairedDriving law. Can be toxic combination with 2 hour rule. That’s 1 reason I fought hard against it in #SenCA. My amendment passed Senate, yet Trudeau govt forced it back.

@sjkelly1 This lower court judge said it is constitutional. I’m expecting higher level courts will weigh in, and I think in the end, Trudeau Government’s #RandomAlcoholTesting will be struck down as unconstitutional.

@Frankenstein68 @brianlilley The #ImpairedDriving bill introduced by the Conservative government in June 2015 (prior to the October 2015 election) did NOT have #RandomAlcoholTesting in it.

@NumberOne9661 With #RandomAlcoholTesting now allowed in Trudeau's new law, the police no longer need reasonable suspicion to test you for alcohol. So, the factors you listed above are no longer required.

As a lawyer and Opposition parliamentarian, it’s my job to hold the Trudeau govt to account for ramming obviously legally flawed legislation through Parliament. Btw, Trudeau govt also should have accepted my amendment removing #RandomAlcoholTesting from #C46 (passed #SenCA).

Does the NDP Leader realize that the Trudeau government rammed #RandomAlcoholTesting through Parliament in June 2018 (while Singh was NDP Leader), even though my #SenCA amendment had removed this unconstitutional and potentially discriminatory provision? #BillC46 #RacialProfiling

Now do the effect #RandomAlcoholTesting has on Canadians’ civil liberties... Hint: it’s not surprising; I’ve warned about it for 18 months. #BillC46

On the #RandomAlcoholTesting in #C46, I agree with Senator @denisebatters and those who voted to remove this stop-and-frisk type proposal. As an #LPC supporter, I am sorry to hear that many "Senate Liberals" wanted to keep it. cc: PM @JustinTrudeau, @Puglaas, @ScarpaleggiaLSL

Timely reminder: The Trudeau Government forced through police powers for #RandomAlcoholTesting in 2018! I amended Bill #C46 to remove this unconstitutional provision. My amendment passed full #SenCA, but the Trudeau Government forced it back in.
The civil rights group, which intervened in the Québec case, said Tuesday's ruling that random stops enable racial profiling is "monumental" and will lead to meaningful change.
