A Bendy Perspective on #Hypermobility and Injury - an old blog about how I view my frequent injuries. Reading it last night helped me, so I thought I'd share it again in case anyone else finds it useful too. #HMSAware https://t.co/cTBi3NZ4nd

It's #HMSAware week with @HMSAcharity. I wish I'd known from the start that joint supports can help for risky activities/injury recovery, but overuse can weaken muscles. It's a balancing act - not an either/or scenario. See https://t.co/S5Mlosu1DP for our #hypermobility products

This week of #HMSAware, we raise awareness of the broader 'umbrella' of hypermobility syndromes. Some HDCTs are rare, but symptomatic hypermobility is not! There may be no cure, but there is almost always something that can be done to help....

Symptoms of #hypermobility are extremely variable. Fatigue, concentration levels, or even hormone levels can be the difference between either completing a task safely or the attempt causing injury or dislocation. #EDS #EDSAwareness #HMSAware Book from https://t.co/S5Mlosu1DP

Hypermobility doesn't always mean 'party tricks'. It can be part of complex conditions causing pain, fatigue, dislocations, digestive issues, heart issues and more. #HSD is one of those conditions - and it is very common. #HMSAware Card from: https://t.co/vpxYix8m2D

With several pain types present in each of us, no-one's pain looks exactly like another's. Sharing tips does provide a tool box full of things to try when you're struggling, though. What are the best pain tips you've been given over the years, and by whom? #HMSAware

At https://t.co/nEEuGSbEGe we spend the week of #RareDiseaseDay raising awareness of symptomatic hypermobility. The spider tool captures how each person is impacted by the systemic effects (rare or not), and MSK is just the tip of the iceberg. #HMSAware https:…

Splints and braces are often vilified - they lead to muscle loss. This is a valid concern. But used well they can minimise injury and enable strengthening. #hypermobility #JHS #EDS #HSD #hEDS #EDSAwarenessMonth #HMSAware Leaflet from https://t.co/PX1Xt8lNbV

Second leg of the hypermobility spider, is Pain. This is not (as you might think) our most frequent complaint. Fatigue comes top. They make a bad team, so it's vital to tackle both. Pacing is key to untangling them. Tips on how to begin here https://t.co/adjuKx0D6q #HMSAware
