Isokinetic testing? Gold standard. Open chain testing? Essential. Fixed dynamometry or 1RM – you have options. But leg press isn’t one of them. Listen here: https://t.co/o4h7WJAzjX

🚨 New study alert! Isokinetic dynamometry (IKD) and inverse dynamics (ID) don’t quite agree when estimating joint moments for ankle plantarflexors and knee extensors. This mismatch matters for how we interpret muscle + tendon function. Full paper: https://t.co/jqJyVAKW1C 1/8

Research shows players with low adductor squeeze strength (under 20kg of force) are up to 4 times more likely to develop groin pain during a sports season (Thorborg et al., 2014, Mosler et al., 2015). #adductorsqueeze #dynamometer #dynamometry #groin #adductorstrength

I love a bit of dynamometry in clinic, but I hear a lot of physios misinterpreting what it tells them! A dynamometer is a tool for quantifying a group of muscles ability to produce force! A dynamometer does NOT assess HOW or WHY those muscles are or are not producing force!

🚨 In a recent study comparing hand-held (HHD) and portable fixed-frame dynamometry (KT360) for assessing hip and groin strength, the award-winning KT360 showed excellent reliability and produced significantly higher muscle strength results. 🏆

Great work by Rich Norris and Alan Price presenting our work at the NHS Objective Measurement Special Interest Group Meeting - lots of interest in using inline dynamometry as an affordable and practical means of testing muscle strength in ACL injury management. @LivuniILCaMS

I used this (somewhat old) device in the development of an indoor cycling datalog. It hasn’t been validated against a high-frequency dynamometry system, but preliminary comparison showed an R² (first post) https://t.co/pYkJx4KGSc

Isokinetic strength: isokinetic dynamometer 🦿 Isokinetic dynamometry allows the measurement of muscle strength for all joints of the body in most of their planar movements, at controlled speeds of movement, and in different modes of contraction↩️ 🔗 https://t.co/d6Ow7mlSdS

Right who is joining me in this? 💪 I can’t think of a time I’ve been this excited to attend a course! I’ve been on the waiting list for this bad boy for a while because I’ll admit that I use dynamometry rather sub-optimally… 😬 @Claire_Minshull is going to be my hero once
