Recently published DISCOM rankings by the Power Ministry ranked Telangana's state DISCOM at the absolute bottom. Literally, 54th out of 54 while the top 2 are both private. Pic source : @theanonlurker
This is why electricity distribution needs to be privatised. Freeloading happens because government discoms are selling, who simply want to avoid a communal riot. A private discom would simply cutoff supply to any consumer or area unwilling to comply.
