Use your voice! Advocate for wild places! Not only do bats benefit, but other wildlife too. Understanding the value of "Natural Capital" means understanding that maintaining wildlife & wild spaces can represent significant economic & ecological benefits for us too! #BatWeek2022

Not only is it #Halloween, it is also #BatWeek2022 so it is the ideal opportunity to feature a #Bat scrapbook that was lovingly compiled and donated in 1953 by a bat enthusiast (She even named her house Bat Cottage!) 🦇🦇

#DCBatWeek 🦇 #BatWeek2022 How do we study bats? Mist nets, harp nets, acoustic devices, radio telemetry, & lots of coffee! These techniques help us acquire a better understanding of bat biology, population health & bat habitats. The more we know, the more we can help!

This unfortunate bat got stuck in a glue trap (meant for bugs). Thankfully he was rescued. Glue traps, like this, are inhumane. We take a stand against poor practices such as the use of open glue traps. Help us take a stand. https://t.co/OFQzfSuhuW #FriendsForBats #BatWeek2022

According to a new study by an #NGOWP team of international scientists, Angola’s highlands are an important hotspot for bats. Historical records and recent studies suggest it may be home to at least 73 unique species of bat! Happy #BatWeek2022 🦇 📸 by Fenton Cotterill
