It is a huge honour to have been elected Chair of @YoungLiberalsUK! . I can’t wait to get started with a fantastic team, and making YL a better place for everyone. I’d also like to give a huge shout out to Joshan for running a very strong, positive campaign 🔶

I've just joined @liberal_reform. At a time when the economy is tanking, populism is rising and civil liberties under threat, we need to be bolder and take a stand on the issues that matter. LR has impressed me by how they've done just that.
Liberal Reform will be putting forward an emergency motion to Lib Dem Conference asking for a pause and rethink of the OSA given what we have seen:. 🔸 threats to wiki and free exchange of information.🔸 LGBT+ websites being blocked.🔸 heavy handed implementation by Ofcom.

Too vague, no guarantees on the safety of our data, and massive overreach on what’s blocked. The OSA is the product of good intentions, but that doesn’t make good law. I’ve signed the petition to scrap it and start again. You should too:

We want the Government to repeal the Online Safety act.

Delighted to see this! Jeremy has been a fantastic advocate for his communities and a brilliant spokesperson. Look forward to working with him!.
We are delighted that Jeremy Purvis has been elected as the new leader of the @LibDemLords in the House of Lords. Jeremy brings great political, parliamentary, party and campaigning experience to the role. The Group and the wider Party are looking forward to working with him.

1) this is exactly what I did during the 2017 election which was held on the day of one of my first A level exams. 2) patronising nonsense.
“Can you imagine saying…'I’ve got exam season coming up, but maybe I should stay up to watch this political debate'.”. 16 and 17 year olds don't need the "added pressure of being dragged into politics" during exam season, says @ClaireCoutinho. @CalumAM | @RosieWright99

A legislature has complex and specific technical language? Who would have thought?!.
🚨 NEW: The Modernisation Committee is planning to change Parliament's outdated and "confusing" language over fears it alienates the public. Terms such as Bill (proposed law), Division (vote), and Early Day Motions (used by MPs to raise issues) could all change. [@thetimes].
