The second half of my Ph.D. work from @HarvardIID is out on bioRxiv today! The proteins present in Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigote and amastigote flagella were largely unknown, so we set out to identify some of them.

It's been a wild almost 5 years (!) since Eric pitched this project for a summer rotation. It's been a journey filled with setbacks, but also with joy and wins, and I am excited to be able to share it with everybody!.

Incredibly grateful for my co-authors and Rubin+Fortune labs. particularly @junhao0_0zhu who has been an amazing co-first author and mentor during my PhD - as well as Eric, who has been a strong supporter throughout, especially as I explored a career in biotech VC.

Together, our work highlights specific targets in mycobacteria as potential TPD candidates, perhaps to make standalone TPD antibiotics or to make the antibiotics we have even better.

Even better, degrading these targets makes their respective antibiotics faster at killing mycobacteria (especially important for bedaquiline which is known to kill slowly).
