well, that was a fun ride at the
#AirthingsMasters
! missed a couple critical moments in games 3 & 4 but it was good to get match experience in.
special thx to the
@ChampChessTour
organizers for the invite
attended
#GOML2022
as a spectator this weekend for my first melee experience and had a BLAST.
really well organized and the community was super chill and welcoming. pleasantly surprised to see so much chess-smash crossover too.
will definitely attend another
I withdrew from the World Rapid today after developing some aggressive flu-like symptoms overnight 😞
I’ll see how I’m feeling in 48 hours before I make a decision on the blitz. Very frustrating
i just found out today, on the day of our flight, that I booked all of our trips to Astana, Kazakhstan instead of Almaty, where the World Blitz is actually being held 😓
gonna need some luck in getting these tickets changed
I hope I never have to play a 10 am final round like that again. Otherwise I was relatively satisfied with my first classical event in almost three years
#ChessOlympiad2022
was roofied and had my phone stolen two nights ago in West Hollywood. Anyways, I’m still alive and super excited for the chessboxing card coming tomorrow. But be careful out there ☠️
disappointed that I won’t be making it to the World Cup in Baku this year.
my Azeri visa application was delayed more than expected and I had a nightmare experience dealing with Air Canada when I wanted to check in to the flight.
For Daniel Naroditsky, The Times’s new chess columnist, a career in the royal game may not be as lucrative as one at a hedge fund — but he is exactly where he wants to be.
Super hyped for seeing the clash amongst the chess Gods.
Who do you think will win?
It will be streamed live on
@chess24com
as well as
@ChampChessTour
website!!!!!
We have a lot of fun events planned for you!
Stay tuned! link:
At the beginning of the year when I was 1500ish
@hansenchess
signed my chessboard and challenged me to hit 1800+ in 2022, and I'm pleased to say I accomplished this goal in every chess dot com category and it's only July :3
The 3
#FIDECandidates
I’d like to see Magnus face in a WCC match:
1. Firouzja
2. Naka
3. Caruana
I like Ding but the match won’t have very good numbers.
Grischuk goes in length and shares his strong opinion about Russia's actions:

The Canada
@chessbrahTV
win the match! 🎉
Both teams move on to week four in the
#ProChess
League, but the Passers are one match loss away from elimination.
👏 👏 A big congratulations to
@GMHikaru
for winning the first-ever edition of our double🏆
#TitledTuesday
(Group A)! 👏 👏
Runner-up
@hansenchess
scored 9.5 as well but had the lesser tiebreak.
The SECOND Titled Tuesday starts today at 2 p.m. PT/ 23:00 CET! See you then 👋!
deleted my previous tweet because of the poor timing- want everyone to focus on the chess being played.
maintain my opinion that charity streams should have more disclosure. I'll try not to stir shit up at 4 am and stick to tweeting about the games 😬
I loved Kobe, man. My favorite athlete and my idol growing up. I got into basketball solely because of him and my favorite thing to watch on TV was late night Laker home games.
His competitiveness and drive was infectious. It inspired me a lot in my own chess career...RIP Kobe😞
For context, we did a couple of paid fundraisers 3 years ago and made a decision to completely stop. Regardless of your moral stance, I think minimum disclosure is fair. I don’t have an issue donating to a charity if they disclose to me that the fundraiser profits *xx percent*
just registered for the World Rapid & Blitz Championships next month in Moscow. Now the hard part begins 😅
1) acquiring a Russian visa
2) getting into chess shape
a win for Hikaru today would balance out his loss against Caruana with black which was his toughest pairing of the entire event.
and I think he’ll have some opportunities against the three first-time candidates Rapport, Duda, and Firouzja.

Don’t know all the details but first impression: very poor PR/marketing in chess as usual.
Why pick a beautiful, central venue like Madrid if you’re not going to follow it up with proper publicity?
The decision to let 7 out of 8 Candidates players "rest" and not show up at the press conference before the tournament was, to put it mildly, very strange.
After the first night of play,
@hansenchess
bot has taken the lead in our Streamer Computer Chess Championship with
@gmcanty
and
@amanhambleton
not far behind... Do you think he can be caught? 🤔🏃♂️
Tune in here! ➡️
don’t want to jinx it but the
#FIDECandidates
is off to a good start entertainment-wise. Lots of fighting positions coming from a bunch of different openings.
watch out for Alireza if he holds his first two games (both w/black)
