Everyone needs a Mr Pigden. Fortunately I had 1. His name was Mr Kenworthy. An absolute hero. Came to watch me play football Sunday. I’m 29. 😂. Although I didnt know it at the time, that was my introduction to relational practice and unconditional positive regard.

There are times when children will need space away from the classroom but why not just work with them during that time and act as a co regulator? Maybe you’re thinking, I don’t have the time?

‘They’re used to keep people safe’ They’re used as punishments (quick fixes) without any attempt to unpick behaviour. If you don’t do that you go around in a circle. The same pupil will end up in isolation over and over.

This beautiful kestrel was spotted on the CCTV cameras at Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk earlier this year. Quick thinking Graeme Cameron, who works at the track in race control, was quick enough to spot it "in hunting mode" and zoomed in for a closer look.
