The 300 sq ft units are a result of the rent caps are tied to the local median income. The only way developers can make the numbers work is by shrinking the units and raising prices on the other market rate ones in the building, effectively subsidizing the affordable units
Miami needs to stop approving microunits. Developers are soon going to put many 'workforce' units in a 300 SF shoebox. They need minimum size requirements.
